International Seminar on “Digital Transformation and Emerging Technologies for Sustainable Development” organized by Premier University and four other universities.

Premier University, Eurasian University – Sri Lanka, NIILM University – India, World University of Bangladesh, and Nile University of Science and Technology jointly organized an international seminar titled “Digital Transformation and Emerging Technologies for Sustainable Development.” Recently, this seminar was held online via the Zoom platform, with Premier University participating as an institutional partner. The seminar was inaugurated by the Honorable Vice-Chancellor of Premier University, Professor S. M. Nasrul Quadir. The session was conducted by Dr. Eng. Mumin Jafar Mumbere, and presided over by Dr. Mohammad Abdi Jimale, Vice-Rector of Nile University of Science and Technology.

Key topics discussed during the seminar included the role of Artificial Intelligence in sustainable development; blockchain technology for good governance and transparency; digital twins and simulation for smart cities; cybersecurity and trust in technology; global connectivity through 5G, IoT, and cloud computing; digital transformation in education and healthcare; green IT and environmental sustainability; ethical and social aspects of emerging technologies; innovation, policy, and capacity building; and assessing the impact of digital transformation on achieving the SDGs.

From Premier University, Mr. Tuton Chandra Mallik, Chairman of the EEE Department, Mr. Kingshuk Dhar, Assistant Professor of CSE, and Ms. Faiza Chowdhury, Counselor of the International Affairs Office & DSW, participated as speakers. Other speakers included Prof. Dr. Nakir Kioribona Kadre from Nile University of Science and Technology, India; Dr. Renu Bala, Head of Library and Information Science Department, and Dr. Rajib Pal, Dean of School of Science from NIILM University, India; Mr. Md. Azim and Dr. Md. Emran Hossain, Assistant Professors of World University of Bangladesh; and Dr. Padmasiri Ranawakarachchi and Dr. Tharindu U. Rajathilake, Assistant Professors from Eurasian University – Sri Lanka.

In his inaugural speech, Professor S. M. Nasrul Quadir, Vice-Chancellor of Premier University, highlighted the role of digital transformation and emerging technologies in sustainable development in today’s world. Speakers emphasized technology-driven development, international collaboration, and skill enhancement for future generations.
