Scientists view
Mathematics as a language of nature. Mathematics is one of the oldest subjects
which has applications in almost all subjects including science and technology,
medicine, commerce, economics and social science. Mathematicians are
increasingly in demand. It is an exciting time to study mathematics, with new
connections within the subjects and to fields outside continually being
discovered. Mathematics develops ability to deal with abstract concepts and
calculations. In recent years, applications of mathematics have expanded far
beyond the traditional boundaries of Basic Sciences and Engineering. Biologists,
sociologists, economists, psychologists and even historians and lawyers have
reached out of mathematicians in their quest for indisputable conclusions and
novel methods of investigation. Considering these needs, the Department of Mathematics
at Premier University was established in January 2013 and the classes started
from March 2015. The main objective of this department is to provide practical
exposure to the students along with theoretical knowledge so that they can have
an opportunity for translating their theoretical knowledge to real life
situation. The study of Mathematics at Premier University will enable a student
to apply his advanced knowledge of Mathematics in engineering, physical
science, life science, social science, business and other related fields.
Welcome to the Department of Mathematics, Premier University.
Mathematics is more than numbers and formulas. It teaches us to think clearly, reason logically, and look at problems from different perspectives. At our department, we want our students to build a strong foundation in mathematics while developing the curiosity and confidence to think independently, ask questions, and explore new ideas.
In line with our vision of becoming a centre of excellence, we are committed to quality teaching, meaningful research, and the practical application of mathematical knowledge. We want learning to go beyond the classroom, creating opportunities for students to exchange ideas, engage in research, and discover how mathematics can contribute to solving real-world problems.
I believe that a department grows when its people grow together. With the dedication of our faculty members, the enthusiasm of our students, and the support of our alumni and well-wishers, we hope to build a stronger academic and research culture where everyone has the opportunity to learn, contribute, and grow.
Our aim is not only to teach mathematics, but to inspire our students to question, explore, and discover what mathematics can make possible. Together, we hope to build a department where ideas are valued, potential is nurtured, and learning leads to meaningful contribution.
With best wishes for academic success.
